For many daily drivers public transportation is not an option; we work way too far from home, there is no public transportation in our area, we have to drive our kids to school and I am sure you could give me thousand of other reasons for driving a car.

The electric car was an option and a big hope for a little while. As most of you already know the electric car is no longer on the market. There are many different theories on the electric car being "killed" - and this subject is hard to discuss about as it always ends up in an angry political-related fight.

However, there is another way of saving up your gas and not overpaying for it. Here are some tips that will be very helpful on saving gas and increasing the fuel economy;

• Accelerate gently; sudden acceleration from a stop can use up to four times more fuel.

• Keep your distance when driving in city traffic. Every time you use the brakes also means you have to accelerate again.

• Shift the transmission into a higher gear as soon as possible. Staying in low gear too long can use up to 30% more fuel. If your car has an automatic transmission, you can allow the transmission to shift earlier by slightly decreasing the pressure on the accelerator pedal for a few seconds.

• Keep your speed down. Decreasing your speed from 110 km/h to 90 km/h will give you a 10% increase in fuel economy. Your chances of getting a speeding ticket are also improved!

• And last but not least - you could convert your car to run on Water! Yes, H2O. It is much easier than it sounds and this proven method could Increase your fuel economy up to 207%. Converting your car to burn water does not harm your engine; in fact it helps your engine to stay cleaner and much more fuel efficient.
